• Your student ID number and a photo of your student ID card, used solely to verify enrollment
• Your department
• A phone number, if you complete phone verification

When you use the platform, we also store:

• Ratings and comments you submit about teachers
• Upvotes, downvotes, and reports you submit on comments

This is the foundation of our privacy commitment: we do not sell, rent, or share your personal information — including your name, email, student ID, phone number, password, ratings, or comments — with any third party.

This includes the university authority. Jagannath University and its administration do not have access to your account information, your ratings, or your comments through this platform. We operate independently of the university precisely so that students can give honest feedback without fear of it being traced back to them by anyone — including the institution itself.

We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not share it with analytics or marketing companies for the purpose of profiling or targeting you.

Ratings and comments are displayed publicly as anonymous — your name is never shown next to a rating or comment you submit. Other students browsing teacher profiles only see the content of your review, not who wrote it.

Your identity is visible only to our admin team, and only in the context of account verification and content moderation (for example, reviewing a reported comment). It is never disclosed publicly or to any outside party, including the teacher being reviewed.

We verify student ID numbers and ID card photos solely to confirm that accounts belong to genuine, currently enrolled students. This keeps ratings credible and prevents fake or duplicate accounts. Your ID photo is stored privately, is never displayed publicly, and is not shared with the university, your department, or any third party.

We use the information we collect only to:

• Verify your eligibility to create an account
• Let you submit, edit, and manage your own ratings
• Restrict rating and voting to students in the relevant department
• Review reported comments and moderate content that violates our Terms of Use
• Maintain the security and integrity of the platform

We do not use your data for any purpose beyond operating the platform as described here.

Your data is stored using industry-standard hosting and database infrastructure. Passwords are encrypted using one-way hashing and are never stored or visible in plain text, including to our own admin team. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data from unauthorized access, but no system can be guaranteed completely secure, and we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

You can update your profile information, change your password, or edit your own ratings and comments at any time from your account. If you would like your account or data permanently deleted, you may contact our admin team to request removal.

If your account is placed on hold, you can review and resubmit your information for re-approval directly from your profile.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the platform evolves. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of the platform after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
